Being An Identical Twin

The stereotype of identical twins is that they are exactly alike. However, despite their shared gene set, identical twins are actually really individuals. No two individuals are exactly alike. Although they do share similarities, they also have many differences. They may look alike and dress in matching outfits, but they may or may not share the same likes and dislikes.

So what is being an identical twin actually like? I decided to interview Mr Falcone, who is and has an identical twin. In this short interview, he gave us some great insight about what his life as an identical twin is like.

The Knightly News: If you had to describe your life in one word, what would it be? Please do not say “indescribable”.

Mr Falcone: “describable”

The Knightly News: Do you like being an identical twin?

Mr Falcone: It certainly has its perks and unfortunately some annoyances

The Knightly News: Why?

Mr Falcone: I’ll start with the annoyances first. Growing up, we were often referred to as “the twins” and I feel that I lost some of my individuality. Also, for some reason our parents didn’t think it was a good idea to take pictures of us not together and not dressed the same. The perks include a lifelong best friend and someone to talk to about math 😉

The Knightly News: What advice do you have for other identical twins out there?

Mr Falcone: Forge your own identity while enjoying each other’s company and friendship. Trick as many people as you can, particularly those who don’t realize you have a twin, and have a good time!
