THE END IS NIGHHHHHHH

IT IS THE ENDDDDDDD…. of the semester. Can you believe it? There is only 3 weeks left in our semester, and very obviously, that is indicative of the end of the year. Personally, I feel as if the year had just begun. To think that we are coming to its close gives us a reminder about how quickly time flies.

Don’t you feel as if the school year just started? It seemed as if it was just yesterday that we were taking home our new textbooks or introducing ourselves to our new teachers. Now we’ll end the year of 2014 with one of the most joyous, jolly, and jubilant season of all the year- Christmas.

It’s that time of year again where all the streamers and ornaments of crimson, emerald and dazzling gold deck the halls of the shopping centres and the streets of Orchard. Peppermint, cinnamon, nutmeg, sage, and rosemary are familiar  crisp aromas of spices that often dance around the tips of our noses, but only at Christmas time! Gargantuan evergreen (although fake) seem to monopolise the whole town, along with their little embellishments of tinsel and holly. And… of course…this is the time where the Christmas themed beverages that all of us adore reappear in our lives.

In ICS, we have our own rendition of Christmas traditions, including our annual Christmas ball! This year our Christmas ball is scheduled to be on the 5th of December. For those of you who are new here, the school winter dance is an event for students to  hang out, dance, and really enjoy the festive season of the year. In other words, we just chill and (sighs..) LET IT GO. (It’s been a year and I can’t rid myself of this Frozen reference) Tickets are $10 per person and the dance is from 7 P.M. to 10 P.M.

Although the end of the school year may seem all fun and games, let us not forget the mid-term finals, just one last hurdle we’ll have to jump, and we shall do so, as a high school. NO ONE IS EXEMPT FROM THIS. Mid-terms finals take place on the last week of school, from the 16th to the 19th of December. Study hard but study smart as well, there’s no use studying for 5 hours a day when in reality you actually spend 85% of it on your phone with your textbook in front of you. Make sure you sleep enough and drink enough water. Stay healthy and if you have any doubts, it won’t hurt to ask your teachers for help! 🙂

After our exams and tests, we get what we have all been waiting for: a long, well-deserved break for the winter for us to recuperate and refresh ourselves for the new year. Not only that, but winter holidays give us the time to spend time with all our loved ones.

BRACE YOURSELVES, ICS. It’s the last stretch! 😀
